On Saturday 29th June we will be at Colegio de Educación Integral Santa María, in Mercedes, having a lot of reflection work on S.E.N. (Specific Education Needs) with Alejandra Ottolina. Join us!
Abstract:
The challenges of S.E.N.
We have all noticed overwhelming changes in our teaching scenarios. In most classes, we have several students with special conditions, and more and more who find it hard to cope with our “traditional” demands. Besides, we notice serious discouragement as well as affective indifference. We clearly lack specific knowledge and professional training to deal with all this.
In this workshop, we will discuss the following:
• What are the main characteristics of DYSLEXIA, AD(H)D and ASD?
• What do these conditions imply for us, EFL teachers? What should/ shouldn’t we do?
• Don’t accommodations imply lowering teaching/learning standards?
• How inclusive can we be in a thirty-student classroom?
