About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

Escape tourist agencies and get to discover Buenos Aires from an anthropological point of view. Do not expect to just walk and listen: be prepared to talk, make questions, taste mate and discuss about the past, present and future of the Argentinean capital.

Beginning in Rapanuí Store and ending in Recoleta Cementery, this walk offers you the chance to approach this beautiful city from its historical past in an attempt to understand its current present.

Why was Buenos Aires called “the Paris of South America”? Who “inhabits” the Recoleta cemetery and what mysteries does it contain? What was the “Belle Epoque” and how did it change the city? Which was the role of large landlords in the development of the country? Was Argentina really a world economic power?

These are just some of the many questions we will try to answer in our walk through the most aristocratic part of town.
